IN THIS LESSON
Endless Craving: A Realm of Unquenchable Desire and Unfulfilled Longing.
The hungry ghost realm is a place of insatiable desire and longing. Beings in this realm are depicted with large, empty bellies and tiny mouths, always hungry but never able to satisfy their cravings. In Buddhist psychology, this realm symbolizes a state of deep attachment and greed, where desires can never be fulfilled. It’s a life of constant yearning and frustration, where nothing ever seems enough. The hungry ghost realm teaches us the futility of excessive desire and the suffering it brings. True contentment, it reminds us, comes from letting go of our cravings and finding peace within.
